Saints Peter & Paul

April 6, 2023

Nestled on the hill side inland of the northern point of Waimea Bay sits the mission of Sts. Peter and Paul. We visited the mission with our niece Rosalynn who was visiting from California. We drove from Honolulu through the North Shore into Haleiwa town, known for its garlic shrimp plates and iconic surfing culture.

The mission was established in 1953. It grew out of a dilapidated and floorless building that was purchased by Father Louis Boyenaems, SS.CC from what used to be a quarry.
