St. Ann

St. Ann church is located in the little town of Waihe'e which sits north of Wailuku on the western slopes of the Maui mountain range. It was hard to find historical information about this little church. The little information out there told the story of a parish that grew out of the sugar plantations as early as 1858, especially when the Japanese and Filipino laborers started arriving. A little chapel served the faithful congregation until around 1935, after which a new building was erected near the entrance of town which is now the present day St. Ann church.
